Sharky Modak: guitar, vocals

Sharky's name is synonymous with the Vancouver music scene. He has been in the music business for twenty years playing with various bands and working as a promoter. He started playing piano at age 7 and later experimented with the trumpet. The trumpet experiment went really bad; Unfortunately the lawsuit settlement states that I can't tell you exactly what occurred on that hot august afternoon with me and my trumpet, let's just say they tell me it wasn't a pretty sight. Sharky was quoted as saying: my instrument of choice is now the guitar which he also picked up in grade 12. Over the years this multi-talented performer has performed with dozens of top Vancouver musicians and continues to delight audiences wherever he goes, from his improvised humor to his vocal ability and stage presence. As a solo artist he acquired the art of playing the same song in a dozen different styles while transcribing another tune and eating chicken wings all simultaneously. Today Sharky has an amazing collection of really tacky shirts and if he looks familiar it's because on nights when he's not playing live [which is rare], you may find him talking to everyone [including himself] or up on stage jamming at any bar in the Lower Mainland.

Mike Kirby

Mike was interested in music from a very early age.He discovered that he could play guitar, mandolin and harmonica while wearing a pony tail. This at the time was acceptable. He had to cut it off when he got his first professional gig during Expo'86 and has been performing without it ever since! He has performed as a single musician in BC and the Yukon as well as the lower mainland. Mike was also a founding member of the famous Shark-bites Duo who enjoyed great success during the 90's. Mike's experience and expertise has allowed him to once again collaborate with his partner Sharky and has put together another award winning project respectively titled The Shark-bites Band! This entertaining 4 piece show band allows Mike's amazing vocal ability to shine, while accompanied by his unique guitar style and sound. Mike tried to grow his pony tail back but Sharky's keen eye caught it just in time and cut it off at the root!! Mike still performs as a single and plays regularly in a duo in the lower mainland. Mike can also be heard on many local albums and commercials.

The Sharkbites

The Sharkbites are a fun talented band who perform a tasty mix of Classic Rock, R&B, Swing and Top 40 music. With great tunes, improvised humor and record give-aways they generate excitement for any crowd from 1 to 10,000!

The Sharkbites have an impressive list of satisfied clients. These include multiple performances for outdoor concerts like "The Merritt Mountain Music festival", Coquitlam's "Golden Spike Days" and numerous out door events throughout the lower mainland. They also have an exclusive list of corporate clients like Western Waffles, Air Canada, Richmond Fire Fighters and many more including weddings and private parties big and small.
